Service to the school
In cooperation with Associate Principal Mr. Nasra, a team of four senior In Flight staff members (Bre B., Alex H., Emily C., and Fernando C.) created an informational video to welcome new students to AHS.  The video shows students how the enrollment process works and what forms they need to complete for enrollment.

DGA student drew interpolated rotoscoping samples on a photograph to create a look similar to the movie A Scanner Darkly, and Charles Schwab commercials.  You can click here to see them!

Digital Graphics and Animation students learned how to create and edit sound in Adobe Audition CS5.5. In addition to editing speech and special effects sounds, students learned to edit music to create a mashup of songs.

Hoffpauir earns technology award

We are so proud!


Congratulations to Alex Hoffpauir, In Flight Online Mag graphic design team leader! Alex is one of 19 young women in the Houston area to receive the National Center for Women in Information and Technology Award for Aspirations in Computing.  Alex's demonstration of effective leadership in technology, and her desire to pursue a career in technology, earned her the award. Alex will be honored at a ceremony at the University of Houston on March 24th.
Next fall, Alex plans to attend St. Edward's University in Austin to study computer science and graphic design. Way to go, Alex!

A sweet view!

The view from 1729 was a little sweeter than an average day on Feb. 8th!  Ann Wehrman’s Banking and Financial Services class packaged and delivered over 1,000 Gigi’s cupcakes to students, teachers, and other school personnel to complete the final phase of a small business project.
Wehrman’s students teamed up with Gigi’s Cupcakes in Kingwood for the business venture.



Students met with Gigi’s Cupcake’s franchise owner,Jerry Rowell, to learn how the business operates and plan a partnership for a fundraiser. Students developed a business plan that would bring five of Gigi’s most popular flavors to Eagleland and bring much needed funds to special education programs at Atascocita High School. A $2 donation included delivery of a cupcake to a friend.



1,000 cupcakes arrive at AHS, ready to be packaged and delivered.



Banking and Financial Services students sorted cupcakes by flavor. Tables filled with White Midnight Magic, and Birthday Surprise cupcakes (left) were packaged individually.

Tags and ribbons were attached to each cupcake to be delivered to lucky recipients (below).



Students received sweet treats, and the special education department received an $800 donation.  Congratulations to Mrs. Wehrman’s first period Banking and Financial Services class.  You make the view from 1729 sweeter!
